The workshop begins with a reading from the author's works. In the following Q&A, you'll gain insights into his creative process and have the chance to ask questions directly.
We explore the surrounding area in search of potential crime scenes and sharpen our senses “through the eyes of an author.” Inspiration for thrilling stories is guaranteed.
Together, we develop first scenes and create exciting plots. The texts created will be discussed in the group and enriched with valuable feedback.
The days conclude with cozy dinners where you'll have the opportunity to exchange ideas with Lenz Koppelstätter and fellow participants.

He has written books about Alma Mahler and Hubert Messner, his crime series featuring the investigator Commissario Grauner is cult, and his new novel about police reporter Gianna Pitti immediately made it onto the bestseller lists. His characters address contemporary issues and convey the Italian way of life, with settings ranging from the Brenner Pass to the Ortler.
Lenz Koppelstätter comes from a South Tyrolean wine village and has returned there after years spent in Bologna, Berlin, Munich, and Istanbul. In our workshop, he will answer questions about writing for three days. He will work with participants to develop characters, plots, and storylines – in an exciting mix of readings, creative writing, and explorations in nature.
